About company
AROMA Trade House was established in 1996 and operated primarily as the exclusive importer of alcoholic beverages to the Russian market.
The company has evolved into one of the Russian alcohol market leaders with substantial annual increase in sales, by gradually extending its exclusive brands portfolio through both close cooperation with suppliers from France, Scotland, Mexico, Spain, Italy, Germany, Chile and CIS countries and development of existing contacts in the Russian Federation.
In the course of development AROMA Trade House’s organizational structure became more complex, and the original company was transformed into a group of companies. The largest distribution center with a total area of 9 hectares, including 25,000 square meters of office and warehouse premises was established in Moscow. Currently, AROMA Trade House has the following groups of customers: the local and metropolitan (operating in Moscow), wholesalers, retailers, restaurants, corporate customers, large chain stores such as Perekrestok, Carousel, Kopeika, Pyaterochka, Dixi, Metro, Real, Auchan, Billa, etc. In St. Petersburg, AROMA Trade House has established a branch office with a total area of 3 hectares with 6,000 square meters office and warehouse mainly responsible for promoting and distributing products in the city of St. Petersburg. The company has local branches in many regions of the Russian Federation, as well as regional dealers and subdistributors operating successfully in more than 250 Russian cities.
Along with further bridging with customers in more Russian cities, the company has been developing the business creating its own retail chain, Aromatniy Mir. On the Russian market, AROMA was the first player to create a specialized spirits retail chain. Although the first steps of this promising project were extremely risky, the success of launching stores in Moscow and St. Petersburg drove the chain’s further growth. Now there are more than 100 stores operating.
AROMA’s business development is focused on creating successful brands. Accordingly, in 2001 the company launched Cherniy Aist brand (Cigogne Noire/Black Stork). This French brandy is now one of the leading products in the Russian market’s cognac&brandy segment. In 2003, the company launched a range of French cognacs branded Nakhimov. Now it is one of the leaders in the French cognac segment of the Russian market. By autumn 2002, AROMA Trade House became the owner of VISMOS, the Chisinau Sparkling And Premium Wines Plant, thus becoming a manufacturer. The plant is now using only its own cognac spirits for brandy production. In late 2007, AROMA also bought A de Fussigny, an old famous cognac house in the heart of Cognac town.
Thus, AROMA Group is a unique structure on the Russian market: a manufacturer, an importer, and a distributor within one business, with its own extensive distribution network.
Currently, the company is experiencing rapid growth. Last year Aroma TH was included in Russia’s Top 4 of cognac&brandy importers and distributors, with a market share of 9.3%. The company is the 2nd largest importer of French products (cognacs and a brandies combined), with a market shares about 25 %, and the 5th largest in terms of French cognacs (about 3.5 %). The company deals with cognac, brandy, whisky, tequila, liqueur, and wine. Many products have good sales dynamics. In Russia, AROMA Trade House is the exclusive distributor of the following companies’ products:
